Each edition of The Wheelslip will include:

  • Fleet & Engineering Updates – the latest progress on both 143601 and 143616

  • Project Spotlights – including our flagship Pioneer Provincial Project

  • Behind the Scenes – a closer look at working visits, challenges, and achievements

  • Events & Visits – where we’ve been and what’s coming up

  • Shop & Fundraising – new items, supporter opportunities, and ways to get involved

A Busy Start to the Year

The launch of The Wheelslip comes at an exciting time for HTP.

Recent working visits to the Tanat Valley Light Railway have seen significant progress, particularly with cleaning, inspections, and fault identification across both units. Behind the scenes, planning continues to gather pace for the long-term future of the fleet.

Alongside this, we’ve been expanding our online presence, with a newly redesigned website, an improved shop offering, and growing engagement across our social platforms.

The Pioneer Provincial Project

At the heart of everything sits 143601, the original Pacer pioneer.

Our Pioneer Provincial Project aims to return the unit to its early BR Provincial identity, recreating not just the look, but the feel of how these units first entered service. It’s an ambitious project, but one that has already seen fantastic support from across the community, to read more about this project please read our previous blog post!

Supporting the Project

As always, everything we do is made possible through support.

From purchasing items in our shop, to sponsoring components, to simply following and sharing our work, it all makes a real difference. Recent additions such as our Sponsor a Seat scheme and heritage items in The Goods Shed are already helping to drive the project forward, please continue to share, like and even purchase these items, it goes a long way!

Thank you for your continued support.

We hope you enjoy the first edition of The Wheelslip, and if you’d like to get involved, be sure to head over to our website and get in touch

Let’s keep the story moving.
